Summary of our CAD-related experience:

 

• The preparation of design and survey models using CAD and Bentley MX, (including calculation of quantities)
• The production of drawings and sketches for showing both conceptual and detailed design proposals for all types of scheme, from a minor junction improvement to 43km of motorway
• The co-ordination of drawings, schedules and other documents for civil engineering projects, as well as managing logistics for drawing / document production (e.g. at tender letting, exhibitions, etc.)
• An in-depth knowledge of various Computer-Aided Design and other software packages such as: AutoCAD, AutoDesk Map, AutoTrack, AutoSign, ArcGIS (including HantsMap Pro Editor), Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop and MSOffice applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.
• Familiarity with CAD manuals used by Hampshire County Council’s Engineering Consultancy, Halcrow, Mott MacDonald, amongst others.
• Setting up of file structures and CAD conventions in a concise and logical manner that facilitates drawing modification, replication and manipulation quickly and easily by any competent CAD user
• Providing training in CAD and draughting for junior staff and the development of (and adherence to) CAD standards
• The checking of own draughting work and also taking a proactive role in the checking of drawing content (e,g, ensuring designs are also correct)
• Familiarity with cartographic formats (such as Ordnance Survey) and also with the conventions and principles of Bentley MX design software
